Why price per nappy

A big box is not always the better deal

Nappies come in dozens of different pack sizes. Only once you work everything back to the price of a single nappy are you comparing fairly.

  • A bigger pack is usually, but far from always, better value.
  • Buy-one-get-one offers are sometimes dearer than the value pack next to them.
  • Own brands and name brands only become comparable per nappy.

A baby gets through roughly 2,200 nappies a year. The difference alongside therefore costs you about € 150 a year.

Are the prices on LuierKompas current?

Every deal shows when its price was last checked. Shops can change prices in between, so always check the final price at the shop itself. Note: this version shows a snapshot and is not yet refreshed daily.

Why do you compare on price per nappy?

Because pack sizes vary enormously. A pack of 44 nappies next to a pack of 108 tells you nothing about which is cheaper. Working everything back to the price of a single nappy shows at a glance where you are really better off.

Does LuierKompas cost anything?

No, comparing is free. We may earn a small commission when you click through to a shop and buy something there. That costs you nothing extra and has no bearing on the order of the results: they are always sorted by price per nappy.

Which nappy size does my child need?

Nappy sizes go by weight, not age. Size 1 starts around 2 kilos, size 3 around 6 kilos and size 5 around 11 kilos. If your child is at the top of a size, or the nappy leaks at night, a size up is usually the answer.

Do you include own brands?

Yes. Own brands are often considerably cheaper per nappy than the name brands. They simply appear among the results, ranked by price per nappy.

Can I filter on pull-up pants?

Yes. Pants appear per brand as a separate type in the filters, for example Pampers Baby-Dry Pants. Pick the brand first and the matching types appear.
